7 card stud poker - Third round
limit Poker
During the last rounds of limit seven-card
stud, the key to your strategy is to have a good fix
on what the other player are either holding, or holding
out for.
Again, there can be no absolutes, but you must make
some sort of judgement. You have seen a lot of cards
and so have your opponents. As long as he is not a fool,
each player remaining in the hand is there for a reason,
and you will have several clues as to what it is. One
is when and how he has bet or raised; another is how
he has reacted to your up cards.
An important point to remember is that the third round
of a limit game is probably your last opportunity to
persuade your opponents to drop out by the size of your
bet. After this point there is usually enough money
in the pot, relative to the fixed limit, that the size
of a bet may have little impact.
While big enough bets can usually drop some players,
it is not always possible in limit Poker for one player
to make a big enough bet at this stage to drive players
out of the game, unless a second player is raising.
